She’s got a way about her! Billy Joel and his wife, Alexis Joel, introduced their newborn daughter Della Rose on Friday, Aug. 14, in a photo taken moments after her Aug. 12 birth.
In the new photo, the dark-haired cutie pie rests comfortably in her mom’s arms. She wears a white onesie and appears to be giving her parents a big smile.
Us Weekly confirmed earlier this week that the couple welcomed the little one in New York at 2:40 a.m. According to Joel’s rep, Della Rose was born at 7 pounds, 6.5 ounces.
The “Just the Way You Are” singer, 66, and Alexis, 33, wed in a secret ceremony at their Long Island estate this past Fourth of July. Joel is also dad to singer Alexa Ray Joel, whom he shares with his second ex-wife, Christie Brinkley. (He also was previously married to Elizabeth Weber from 1973 to 1982 and celebrity chef Katie Lee from 2004 to 2011.)
On Thursday, Alexa Ray posted a sweet “It’s a Girl” Instagram photo in honor of her half-sister. “Celebrating the arrival of my precious little sister this week,” the 29-year-old captioned a beach snapshot. “With Pop and his Darling’s happiness at their peak // As long as you are growing in love and loyalty // You’re cultivating a life worth more than royalty. #ShamelesslySentimental #SappyBigSis #MySiblingsAreTheGemsOfMyLife.”
