It’s a baby (Backstreet) boy! Nick Carter and his wife, Lauren Kitt, have welcomed their first child together. The couple’s son — named Odin Reign — arrived on Tuesday, April 19, via a water birth at their Hidden Hills, California home, Carter told Entertainment Tonight.
In October 2015, Us Weekly exclusively broke the news that Carter, 36, and the fitness pro were expecting. “They are so happy and overjoyed,” the insider told Us of the pair, who documented their romance on the VH1 reality show I Heart Nick Carter. “They’ve been trying and waiting for such a long time.”
Carter, who competed on season 21 of Dancing With the Stars, went public with the pregnancy on the show’s November 2, 2015 episode. During a pretaped video, Kitt revealed that they had suffered a tragic miscarriage. “We were pregnant before and we lost the baby,” Kitt revealed. “It was really hard on Nick and just watching him get so excited about something and then to just see him so hurt, that was hard.”
Backstreet Boys singer proposed to Kitt with a 7-carat diamond in February 2013. They exchanged vows in a ceremony in Santa Barbara, California, in 2015, surrounded by loved ones including bandmates AJ McLean, Howie Dorough and Brian Littrell.
