These boots weren’t necessarily made for dancing. Jennifer Lopez flawlessly executed a spirited dance routine in her new video, “Ain’t Your Mama,” while wearing a pair of belted Manolo Blahnik denim thigh-high boots. But the singer, 46, revealed that the ordeal wasn’t, well, a walk in the park.
“Rihanna had sent me these amazing boots and I was like, ‘These have to be in the video,’” Lopez explained in a Facebook Live Q&A on Tuesday, May 10. “They were hard to dance in. Everyone else was dancing … in combat boots and sneakers. I walked out to the set and I was like, ‘Nobody wearing heels but me? OK!’”
And as an extra curveball, Lopez and her crew had to break it down outside on the concrete. “But we pulled it off,” the former Fly Girl said with a smile.
The $4,350 “9 to 5” boot is a part of Rihanna’s Denim Desserts collection that launched on May 5. She gifted Lopez with a pair “because I know you’re gonna wear them better than me!!!” read a handwritten note from Rihanna that Lopez Instagrammed on April 20.
Riri, 28, expressed her flattery on Lopez’s wardrobe choice on May 6. “I’m having such a f—in moment knowing that forever I have proof of a bad one like you in my designs,” she captioned an Instagram clip of J. Lo’s new video.
