Angie Bowie is letting the world see her grief after the death of ex-husband David Bowie. The former model, 66, who is currently participating in season 17 of Celebrity Big Brother, opted to stay on the show and allowed cameras to capture her sorrow after being notified of the iconic musician’s passing.
The U.K.’s Channel 5 aired the heartrending clip of the former model weeping on Monday, January 11.
“I haven’t seen him in so many years,” Angie said in the Diary Room on the reality competition show. “I can’t make a big drama out of it. I just feel like an era has ended with his passing. I’m so very sad.”
The video then cuts to her crying into her hands as fellow contestants David Gest and John Patridge try to console her. “The Stardust is gone,” she added.

A rep for the reality show confirmed to Us Weekly on Monday that Angie was notified of his death by her reps off camera. (Contestants are sequestered while participating on the show.)
“The decision to remain in the House is entirely her choice, and she has been given the option to leave at any time if she changes her mind,” the rep added. “Appropriate support will be available to Angie at any time if needed.”
David, who died on January 10 after an 18-month battle against cancer at age 69, was known for his ability to reinvent himself over his decades-long career, and influenced numerous musicians, many of whom took to social media to remember him.
The former couple were married for 10 years, and share one son together, director Duncan Jones. The legendary artist is also survived by second wife, Iman, and their daughter, Alexandria Jones.
