It’s official! Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham are engaged, the actor’s rep confirms to Us Weekly. The former Victoria’s Secret model showed off her stunning diamond engagement ring at the 2016 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 10.
The 28-year-old looked gorgeous in a beaded Atelier Versace gown at the awards show, where she posed on the red carpet, flashing her massive new bling while walking arm in arm with the 48-year-old Spy star.
Huntington-Whiteley and Statham, who introduced highlights from the comedy with costar Melissa McCarthy, got engaged while on vacation over the holidays, a source tells Us.
The couple of five years met on set of Transformers in 2011.
“We’re best mates,” Huntington-Whiteley told Self magazine of her longtime love in April 2015. “He makes me laugh every day. I almost feel like I never had a proper boyfriend before!”
Statham’s proposal seemingly came as a surprise for the lingerie designer. During her interview with Self, she suggested that marriage wasn’t an immediate priority.
“For any couple that’s been together for a certain amount of time, there’s a massive amount of pressure to get married,” she explained of their relationship. “I totally believe in marriage, but being in a happy relationship is much more important to me … [Kids are] something that’s more realistic in the near future.”
