Time is ticking! With their son due very soon, a flummoxed Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are still deciding on a baby name, multiple sources confirm to Us Weekly.
One insider tells Us that the expectant couple have compiled a list of names for their future son and are still entertaining options. "They are asking everyone they know for ideas!" the source says. "Kim and Kanye are both calling everyone and constantly asking for ideas."
It might even be a game-time decision for Kardashian, 35, and West, 38. "They are trying to narrow it down, but it's been really hard," the same source adds. "They are hoping when she gives birth, the right one will jump out at them."
Another source hints at the types of names fans should anticipate for the tot. The insider says that both the reality star and the rapper have been brainstorming names, but West is significantly more "creative."
The stars caused a hoopla in June 2013 when they welcomed their daughter and named her North West. While the Internet has joked about Nori's younger sibling potentially being dubbed "South West," the second insider tells Us that the moniker has already been ruled out — along with East and West. "It won't be directional," the source confirms.
Kardashian also expressed her disdain for the name "South" in an interview with NPR this past June. “I don’t like South West, though, because North will always be better and she has a better direction," the Selfish author noted. "So I wouldn’t do that. I don’t think we’ll go with another direction. Everyone keeps on saying South, and I think it’s so stupid. It’s the stupidest thing ever." The reality star shared with fans this past week that her son is no longer breech after she endured a painful medical procedure this past weekend.
Meanwhile, West is ecstatic about welcoming a son and hopes to raise him with a sense of gratitude in Hollywood. "I don't have a name for him, but what I hope for him is that he can feel purpose," West said during a SHOWstudio interview this past October. "Do I worry about being in the public eye and raising kids? Yeah . . . but it's champagne problems. It's people who can't feed their kids. That's something to worry about more."
West expressed his excitement at the Footwear News 29th Annual Achievement Awards in NYC on Dec. 2. "I'm waiting on my son to arrive any day now," the designer told his peers while accepting the award for Shoe of the Year. "And I look at my daughter and I look at my wife and she’s rich and I don’t plan on being broke."
