David Bowie’s Wife Iman Posts Heartbreaking Photos, Quotes About ‘Struggle’ Before Beloved Artist’s Death

Iman is mourning the loss of her world-famous husband, David Bowie. The supermodel posted a telling message via Instagram on Saturday, January 9, one day before the legendary artist’s death.

“Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory,” Iman, 60, shared via Instagram. She added in her caption: “Rise #imandaily.”

As previously reported, Bowie passed away at the age of 69 on Sunday night. “David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer,” his Facebook page read. “While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.”

Iman also sharedon the day of his death a throwback photo of Bowie. The “Space Oddity” singer appeared to be getting ready for a show in the ’70s or ’80s. In a second post, she added: “The struggle is real, but so is God.” (On January 8, Iman also shared several professional photos of her love in honor of his 69th birthday. Some included his music video looks and one with Tina Turner.)

Iman and Bowie married in 1992 and are parents to daughter Alexandria, 15. The late star also had son Duncan, 44, with his ex-wife, Angie. She was notified of Bowie’s death while on the set of Celebrity Big Brother. (Angie, 66, and Bowie were married from 1970 to 1980.)

“Following the very sad news of David Bowie’s death, we can now confirm that Angie Bowie has been informed off camera by her representatives,” the show rep told Us on Monday. “She has taken the decision to continue in the program.”
