Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards are at legal war over their children’s trust. In an exclusive statement to Us Weekly, the actress’ lawyer, Patricia Glaser, slams Sheen’s attorney, Marty Singer, for claiming the Wild Things star just wants more money for herself.

“Not only are Mr. Singer’s comments about Ms. Richards blatantly inaccurate, they’re also inappropriate and unprofessional,” Glaser tells Us in an exclusive statement on Friday, January 22. “Ms. Richards is doing everything she can to protect her children from the fallout of Mr. Sheen’s erratic lifestyle and its enormously negative impact on their children.”

As previously reported, Richards filed a lawsuit against her ex-husband on Thursday, January 21, claiming he’s not complying with a May 2014 agreement to purchase a home for the children as part of their trust, and that he has threatened their lives as well as that of the actress.

The former couple share daughters Sam, 11, and Lola, 10.

Sheen’s lawyer told Us Weekly in a statement on Saturday, January 23, that he wasn’t going to “stoop to Patty Glaser’s level by attacking her personally,” but noted that it was “ironic” that Glaser “would comment on Charlie’s lifestyle considering that it was her client who wanted to marry him. And as a result of that marriage, Denise became a very rich woman.”

Singer added that he has been representing the Two and a Half Men alum, who revealed in November that he is HIV-positive, for more than 20 years and described Richards’ filing as an attempt “to squeeze as much money as she can out of Charlie.”

“This motion has nothing to do with their children,” he added. “Denise is simply being greedy. She isn’t satisfied receiving $55,000 per month tax free — more than what 99 percent of the people in the world make. Now, she’s asking Charlie to pay her more money so she can buy a second home because one $7 million home isn’t enough for her.”

Singer previously told TMZ that Sheen intends to fight Richards’ lawsuit “and believes he will prevail.”
