Break it down, Jimmy! Jimmy Kimmel recapped, point by point, the heated Twitter feud that took place between Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa on Wednesday, January 27, during his talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, that evening.

“Kanye West is in another Twitter feud, and the good news is this time it’s not with me,” the 48-year-old comedian began, referencing his heated feud with the rapper back in 2013. “It’s a lot to digest, but basically what happened was Kanye revealed that he was changing the title of his new album for the third time — an album he’s already calling the greatest album of all time.”

The ABC host explained that Khalifa reacted to West’s announcement with a tweet asking the “Stronger” rapper to “please don’t take the wave,” since Harlem rapper Max B was the one who had started the whole “wavy” movement.

“Wiz is apparently concerned that Kanye would co-opt” the “sing-song style of rapping” that Max B started, Kimmel continued. But it was Khalifa’s next tweet (“Hit this kk and become yourself”) that really set West off.

“And then Kanye went nuts because Wiz has a kid with Kanye’s ex Amber Rose, and Kanye assumed that KK stood for Kim Kardashian,” Kimmel said, before reading off several of West’s angry tweets, censoring all the curse words.

“KK is a nickname for marijuana,” Kimmel explained, causing the audience to erupt in groans and laughter. “Just what marijuana needed, another nickname. But Kanye, who did not know this, was still going off. He tweeted, ‘You have distracted from my creative process.’ And then he got personal: ‘You let a stripper trap you.’”

The “stripper” he referred to was their mutual ex, Amber Rose, with whom Khalifa has a child.

Kimmel ended his epic recap with a shrug and a quip.

“All this time I thought it was the ocean that created waves, but I guess not,” he said. “But I do have to believe that Tupac and Biggie are watching this and saying, you’ve got to be kidding me.”
