Met Gala 2016 Beauty Breakdown: Celeb Hair, Makeup Looks
After prepping the supermodel’s skin with Meaningful Beauty Ultra Lifting and Firming Treatment and Rimmel London Lasting Finish Primer, makeup artist Jo Baker smoothed on Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25H Foundation in Classic Beige. A subtle beach-bronzed glow came courtesy of Rimmel London Sculpting & Highlighting Kit by Kate Moss in Golden Sands.
Celeb stylist Christopher Naselli parted Vikander’s hair in the center and braided each section back and away from her face. He joined them together, secured with an elastic and hid the band using a piece of hair from under the pony. For texture, he worked TRESemme Beauty-Full Volume Touchable Bounce Mousse into the loose hair. “The look is an unexpected pair with her detailed Louis Vuitton dress, which gave a modern urban warrior vibe,” Naselli told Us.
To play up Davis’ green eyes, Avon Global Celebrity Makeup Artist Lauren Andersen depended on Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Mocha Latte. She then created definition with Avon Glimmersticks Waterproof Eye Liner in Brown Chocolate and Avon Big & Multiplied Volume Mascara in Black.
The newly named YSL Beauty Muse’s Valentino Haute Couture mask put all the focus on her pink pout. For the fresh color, makeup artist Renee Garnes used the line's Beaute Rouge Volupte Shine in No. 47 Beige Blouse.
To complement her princess Zac Posen gown, celeb hairstylist Peter Butler looked to real-life princess Grace Kelly for inspiration. For Danes’ chignon, he first washed hair with Infusium 23 Moisture Replenisher Shampoo and Conditioner before blow drying with a round brush. He curled locks around the hairline with PRO Beauty Tools 1 1/4 Curling Iron, then swept the hair into a low ponytail. For the bun, he twisted the strands into a loose knot and secured with pins.
For the dramatic height, Frederic Aspiras applied Matrix Total Results Wonder Boost Root Lifter before blow-drying Gaga’s hair. After curling and adding sea salt spray for texture, he sealed the style with Matrix Total Results High Amplify Hair Spray.
