New York Knicks player Cleanthony Early was shot and robbed outside of a Queens, New York, strip club in the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 30, the New York Times reports.
According to the Times, Early, 24, had just left the CityScapes Gentlemen’s Club at 4 a.m. with a woman and was in an Uber when the car was stopped by what police describe as up to six men wearing ski masks. The NBA star was robbed of his jewelry and the gold caps on his teeth.
The second-year forward was then shot once in the kneecap. His Uber driver and the woman were not harmed. He is currently recovering at Elmhurst Hospital.
Early last played in Tuesday night’s game against the Detroit Pistons, which the Knicks won 108 to 96.
The team and Early have yet to comment on the shooting.
