“That’s trending, huh?” DiCaprio, 41, said to Entertainment Tonight. “I just didn’t know what was passing me. I was like, ‘Oh!'”

The hunky star received a standing ovation when he won for his role in The Revenant in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama category. The drama also starred Johnny Depp and Juliette Lewis.

“I desperately wanted to do [it]. And it was the first time I got offered a lot of money to do this other role, and I waited. I am pretty proud of myself at that age that I was that passionate about something and a character,” he told reporters. “That paid off a lot for me because I got to work with pretty unbelievable people.”
