Kristen Bell isn’t above bribing her daughters to get them moving in the morning. “We don’t do a lot of sugar in my house because my kids are insane on sugar and I don’t want to deal with it,” the actress told Us Weekly on Wednesday, March 16, at a press junket for her romantic comedy The Boss. “I make a lot of zucchini muffins, and it’s sad, but true, zucchini muffins are my bargaining chip, for both my girls. They are the currency of the household.”
The mom of Lincoln, nearly 3, and Delta, 15 months, with husband Dax Shepard, calls the treats a “pretty good trick.”
“I feel good about it because I’m slopping in some vegetables,” Bell, 35, told Us. “But there’s brown sugar and they’re delicious … It’s how I get them to cooperate.”
The Veronica Mars alum also opened up about her parenting style. “I think your kid can have an infinite amount of friends, but they can only have two parents ever,” Bell said, “so as much as it’s important for me to be friends with my girls, it’s also important for me to be their mom.”
Bell and Shepard, who started dating in 2007, got engaged in 2010. But the couple waited until 2013 — when California legalized same-sex marriage — to say “I do.” In March 2013, they welcomed their first daughter, Lincoln. Delta was born in December 2014.
