It’s a boy! Good Morning America weekend host Sara Haines and her husband, Max Shifrin, welcomed their first child together on Saturday, March 5 — and she shared part of the experience live from the hospital before the delivery on Periscope!
Haines, 38, gave birth to Alec Richard Shifrin at 1:52 p.m. on Saturday in New York City. The healthy baby boy weighed in at 7 pounds and 5 ounces.
“We did it!!!” the ABC News correspondent wrote in a post on Instagram. “On March 5th, 2016 we met our little guy Alec Richard Shifrin (named after our dads). He weighed in at 7 lbs. 5 ounces. We are excited, exhausted and possibly still in shock, but soaking it all in. Thank you for all of the kind messages and encouraging words. It will take a village to raise this little man.”
Good Morning America sent their congratulations to the new parents on their Instagram page, writing, “Congrats to @sarahaines and her husband Max on the birth of their baby boy, Alec!”
After Haines’ water broke, the couple walked their dog, Trixie, before she live-streamed her arrival at the hospital and some footage of her new son on Periscope.
