Happily ever after! Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra tied the knot, after a decade of dating, during the Monday, January 25, episode of Teen Mom OG, with fellow MTV stars Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood and Kailyn Lowry in attendance. Farrah Abraham wasn’t invited due to being Cate and Ty’s arch nemesis, but no worries: She was far too busy doing other important things, like making her mom cry.
Also, shout-out to Amber for saying, “Oh, my god — you’re old,” when her middle-aged fiancé started dancing.
Maci Drops a Financial Bombshell
Maci is officially a fashionista! The Tennessee native’s boyfriend, Taylor McKinney, invested in his own T-shirt line, but left Maci out of the deal even though she did all the legwork. “I have, like, planned this entire photo shoot and been doing everything,” Maci complained to a friend. “My name’s not even on this company.”
Maci also voiced some concern over the financial implications of starting a business: “We’re already barely staying above water,” she told Taylor before he brokered the deal.
Amber Takes a *Huge* Risk
Looks like Amber was also in the mood to invest! She and her fiancé, Matt Baier, threw down $18,000 and bought a dilapidated house to flip. Their plans for the money? Developing a sober-living home for recovering addicts. “This is a big risk,” Amber admitted. “The money that I’ve made, I wanna be smart with it now. Because back in the day, I completely blew all of my money, and I didn’t even know what I was doing.”
Farrah Makes Her Mom Cry, The World Is Round, Etc.
Don’t worry, guys — Farrah made her mom cry again. The former stripper decided not to let Debra babysit Sophia during her month-long business trip to England, telling her therapist, “I think some things with how my mom’s bipolar behavior creates Sophia to be more aggressive…. It’s also her snippitiness and her selfishness. Her behavior is driving me crazy. I must have been scarred from my childhood.”
Love it when Farrah invents words, but Debra wasn’t thrilled to hear she’d been rejected. “Do you realize I lost my job over all of this?” she said, while Farrah mused, “You’re f–king manipulating the situation.” Delightful bonding session as usual!
Debra Weeps Hysterically, Sophia Throws Grandma-Shade
Pray for Debra! The disgruntled grandmother had a total breakdown after Farrah accused her of being “passive aggressive” for scolding a misbehaving Sophia.
“It doesn’t matter, it does not f–king matter,” Debra wept while cleaning up a family dinner. “Nobody gives a f–k and nobody cares. I don’t care, I don’t care!”
Thanks to Sophia deadpanning “I’m scared,” Farrah decided to call it a night — but not before slaying her mom with one last zinger. “I am above this bulls–t, so I am leaving, and I’ve had enough,” she said. “I love you, I hear you, but you’re not gonna watch Sophia full time.”
Of course, the most tragic part of this exchange was when Debra said, “Sophia, I wanna kiss you goodbye,” and Sophia retorted “nope,” before walking out the door. Yikes, that’s cold.
Catelynn Bonds With Her Teen Mom Costars
Here comes the bride! Catelynn looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day, thanks in part to the help of Teresa Davis, the adoptive mother of Catelynn’s first daughter, Carly. In a tearful prenuptials moment, Teresa helped Cate adjust her veil, saying, “We are so proud of you. We just love you so much. Thank you for everything you’ve done to us. Thank you for letting us celebrate.”
Later, Catelynn and Tyler danced with Teresa and Carly, causing Maci, Amber and Kailyn to cry (along with the rest of America). Kailyn asked Cate if the beautiful moment was planned, and she revealed that it was totally spontaneous: “It was spur of the moment. Carly was like, ‘I wanna dance with Tyler.'” The moment was clearly important to Ty, who told Teresa, “This is the best day ever in my life.”
Re-Live Tyler Baltierra’s Emotional Vows
So, Tyler’s vows to Catelynn were the very definition of #goals, and it’s time to read ’em and weep. Literally.
“From middle school sweethearts at the tender age of 13, to two teens in a crisis facing the odds together, to becoming parents and building a household together, to playfully goofing around together like children as if no one is watching. All of these things and many more are the reason I want to make a promise to you,” Tyler said. “A promise that, as long as I’m alive, you will never be alone, you will never question if you are beautiful, you will never doubt that you are worthy, and you will never wonder if you are loved. You are my angel, my soulmate, my best friend. I believe you were brought into this world and destined to be loved by me, cherished by me — I anxiously await to be able to love you forever as my wife.”
While Catelynn’s vows were similarly sweet, Tyler’s set the bar for future Teen Mom weddings. Matt Baier said he wanted to copy the sweet musings and asked Taylor if he wants get married. His response? A simple “yeah.” (Note: Maci and Taylor just got engaged in real-time.)
Butch Crosses a Major Line
It wouldn’t be a Teen Mom wedding without some drama! Despite Tyler’s father, Butch Baltierra, being told he wasn’t allowed to meet Carly, he went ahead and introduced himself. “Hey, Carly — you Carly? Hi, Carly,” Butch said while Brandon and Teresa Davis looked on in horror. “Nice to meet you, honey — I’ve heard a lot about you. You’re very pretty.”
Good, awkward times.
