‘Kocktails With Khloe’ Recap: Khloe Kardashian Worries She’ll ‘Emasculate’ Lamar Odom by Caring for Him

Raise a glass! The Wednesday, April 13, episode of Kocktails With Khloé was chock-full of cool guests and hot topics. Joining host Khloé Kardashian were former ‘NSyncer Lance Bass, actress Holly Robinson Peete, Heartbeat star Jamie Kennedy and ShamelessShanola Hampton. Generally speaking, the show returned to its lighthearted tone, though Peete did discuss her son’s battle with autism several times.

On a weirder note, in the middle of the episode, Khloé’s birth-control alarm apparently went off, and she took her pill while they filmed. (Her alarm wasn’t audible on the broadcast, but other guests at the table heard it.) Also, she only talked about Lamar Odom once, so that was new.

Lance Bass Wasn’t Invited to JT’s Wedding

After discussing his marriage of one year, Bass revealed that he had not, in fact, been invited to Justin Timberlake‘s wedding, but he wasn’t offended. He said that when all five of the former ‘NSync members are together, “People go nuts, and it’s all about ‘NSync, and it’s just taking picture after picture.” Bass explained, “Justin wanted that wedding to be about [Jessica]. He didn’t want it to be an ‘NSync reunion.”

Bass did note that Timberlake called him in advance of not inviting him to explain. “I totally understand, and I respect that, and I think it’s kind of romantic to make it all about her for that day. I thought it was very thoughtful,” Bass reasoned. Still, they were invited to the engagement party. “That was lots of fun,” he added with a smile.

As for an ‘NSync reunion, the jury’s still out. Bass said they are still definitely a “family” and hoped “when things make sense, we’ll do it.” No word on when things might make sense, though … sigh.

Khloé Got Out of Jail Early Because Prisoners Were Rioting

Reflecting on her DUI, Khloé acknowledged she “shouldn’t have been doing that,” but still she thought her punishment — going to see bodies being embalmed in a morgue — was rather harsh.

“I was 22 years old. It’s so stupid, what I did. That’s why they send you to the morgue, because they want you to see people that have passed away from a DUI driver, but seeing bodies being embalmed, I don’t think that is really healthy for kids to see. That was a little dark,” she argued. “It was so traumatizing, and I had to serve three days in jail, but I only served 30 minutes … because they started rioting at the jail because I was there.” Kennedy thought that was just about the coolest thing he’d ever heard, and then the topic turned to whether Khloé would ever go for some lady action if she were stuck in the slammer longer.

She said she wouldn’t, but then Peete chimed in, “When you’re in jail for a period of time … some of them girls start looking like guys, and you just forget [that they’re women].” Umm. Do you? We’ll take her word for it.

Lance Got Outed in Line for the Bathroom

Okay, so yes, he was in line for the bathroom at a gay bar — but he hadn’t made a public declaration of his sexuality just yet. “I was in the line at this gay bar. I didn’t think that anyone cared if I was gay or straight, and I remember talking to this guy who ended up being my friend, and the guy behind us in line was a reporter for, like, the New York Post or something,” he recalled. “So I’m sitting there talking to him, and he was like, ‘So, you’re gay, huh?’ and I was like, ‘Yeah,’ and then that’s how it all came out.”

Bass added that he really “wasn’t ready” to share that with the world at the time, but he had no choice at that point. He ultimately got over it, though, as he went on to have the first televised gay wedding.

Khloé Didn’t Want Lamar to Go Out in Public Without Her After His Accident

The episode was only minutes from wrapping when Khloé couldn’t stand it anymore and mentioned Lamar. During her final segment, she explained how she felt during her first public outing with him following his “accident.”

“We went somewhere, and some guy came up to him and was like, ‘Hey, you remember me?’ and I’m like — I know he’s an adult, and I didn’t want to, you know, be this girl, but I was like, ‘No, he doesn’t remember you right now,'” she recalled. “I wanted to attack this guy and be like, ‘Take your head out of your ass!'” She paused for a moment. “I almost then didn’t want Lamar to ever go out in public without me because I felt like I had to tell everyone he has a brain injury, and I don’t want to emasculate him.” So that’s the update on Khloé and Lamar.

In other news, we learned that Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian watched The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story “religiously,” and that when Kourtney went to Justin Bieber‘s concert, he wanted her to tell him what happened in episode six. Also, Peete’s dad was the original Gordon on Sesame Street, which is pretty money. And finally, Khloé divulged that she (still) wants children at some point, but (still) doesn’t want them right now.

Tell Us: Does Khloé’s concern for Lamar mean that they’ll get back together?

Kocktails With Khloé airs on FYI Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET.
