Among Donald Trump‘s army of advisers is a Slovenia-bred former model. In the new issue of Us Weekly, the Republican presidential front-runner’s wife, Melania, reveals that she offers him tips on how to handle his campaign.
“I give him ideas, and I give him my opinions,” says the 45-year-old designer of QVC’s Melania Timepieces & Fashion Jewelry line. “Some stuff he listens to.”
And though the mom of Barron, 9, declines to give her take on political issues — “That’s my husband’s job, I leave that to him” — she says she often talks shop with the 69-year-old.
“I’m very political,” she tells Us. “I’m not political in public, I’m political at home.”
Melania adds that she’s not just a “yes woman” to the real estate magnate, known for his controversial positions, including his call to bar all Muslims from entering America.
“Do I agree with everything he says? No,” she admits. “I have my own opinions too, and I tell him that. Sometimes he takes it in and listens, and sometimes he doesn’t. But it is who he is, I don’t want to change him. He’s an adult, he knows what the consequences could be.”
