Kanye West Says Kim Kardashian’s Late Father Is ‘Still Doing Deals for Controversial Black People’ Up in Heaven

Kanye West has changed the title of his upcoming album three times so far — from So Help Me God to Swish to Waves — and it seems that his faith is foremost in his mind as he counts down the days till his eagerly awaited epic is released on February 11.

In an interview with Big Boy on Real 92.3 on Thursday, February 4, West, 38, talked about the album, which he has been working on for two years, admitting that he still hasn’t settled on a title. “I’m trying to open up hearts, minds,” the rapper said. “I played something for somebody the other day and they said, ‘Good luck.’ Man, I am offended by the word luck for the amount of work I put in. And the fact that this is a god’s dream. … It’s a dream that can’t happen without God.”

He explained that he could spend every waking hour working on the album but he’s “still only doing 1 or 2 percent of the work, and God is doing the rest.”

West also believes that his late mother, Donda West, and his wife Kim Kardashian‘s father, O.J. Simpson lawyer Robert Kardashian (pictured below) — who died in 2003 — are also watching over him and helping get things done.

“My mom had [producer] Teddy Riley change his flight and come back to the studio,” West said, while “Robert Kardashian is making sure that all the deals is getting done. He’s still doing deals for controversial black people from up in heaven.”

West also talked in the interview about his Twitter feud with Wiz Khalifa, revealing they have smoothed things over, and he confirmed that the pic Kim, 35, posted on Instagram earlier this week with Khalifa’s ex-wife, Amber Rose, was taken at mother-in-law Kris Jenner‘s house.

He explained that his reason for going off on Khalifa and sniping at the rapper’s child with Rose (who is also West’s ex) was because he felt his wife was being disrespected.

“I just want to show I’m a man at the end of the day,” he said. “Imma hold my wife down, and imma hold my family down.”
