T. Rex Isn’t So Scary When He Dances in a Chorus Line: Watch!

Living his best life! Michael Macilwee is proving that not all dinosaurs have to be terrifying monsters. The stage actor recently slipped into a Tyrannosaurus rex costume to perform the opening number of A Chorus Line — and it’s as funny as you’d think it would be.

Macilwee bopped up and down in the costume, which looked to be more than 12 feet tall. Despite the extra weight and tail dragging between his legs, the Scranton, Pennsylvania, native got through the famous choreography with ease. His costars, meanwhile, belly-laughed and cheered him on in the corner.

“Yes, this is me in a T-Rex costume dancing A Chorus Line. Hope you enjoy,” Macilwee captioned the video via Facebook on Wednesday, March 23.

Macilwee, who has also starred (sans T. rex suit) in touring productions of The Music Man and Phantom of the Opera, joked about his T. rex day in the studio during an interview with From the Box Office Blog.

“Several weeks ago I had said to some friends, ‘What if I bought one of those T-Rex costumes that went viral and did some Broadway dances in it?'” Macilwee said in the piece, which published on Saturday, March 26. “So I went online and ordered the costume. I went to pick it up at the post office and had it with me while I was teaching class. After the class was over I thought I would give it a try. The video is actually my first time dancing in it!”
