It’s been more than a week since country singer Craig Strickland went missing while on a hunting trip in Oklahoma, but search and rescue teams in the area have not given up on finding him. On Sunday, January 3, Strickland’s wife, Helen, took to Instagram to thank those who have been tirelessly working to locate her husband.
“Sam and Ryan searching the surrounding land while Randy and Garthe drove through the frozen water in today's 27 degree weather,” she captioned a video from the water of the teams looking. “Thank you for refusing to give up #craigstrickland @olboy40 @strickark.”
She also posted a smiling photo with the State Search and Rescue team members, calling them “such wonderful, hardworking, godly people.”
“Our family has been incredibly blessed by your presence and the dedication of your furry friends,” she captioned the pics. “We cannot thank you enough for the hard work and tiresome volunteer hours you poured into the search for #craigstrickland. Your acts of kindness and generosity gave our family continued hope. Thank you for creating this program strictly from the goodness of your hearts. I know it takes a ton of effort to train every single day. Your pups are amazing. Love in Christ, Helen.”
The former Miss Arkansas has remained optimistic ever since Craig went missing on December 26 during a hunting trip with his friend Chase Morland. Morland has since been found deceased. Helen suspects that her husband will likely not be found alive, but is still desperate to find him.
"He's in a better place," Helen previously told 40/29 News. "It's more painful for us to think he could be underwater. Still we want that closure in seeing him."
