Time is on her side! While screening her new film, Connected, Pamela Anderson noted the similarities — and differences — between her and her vulnerable character, Jackie. While Jackie digs in her heels at the thought of growing older, Anderson embraces it.

“I actually like aging,” she told W. “I have great older female role models in my life, including my amazing mom, who have glitz, glamour, and all sorts of fun. Getting older isn’t the end. I know I have so much to look forward to.”

And though she faces it head on, she acknowledges the reservations that her peers may have. “Aging is something we all deal with,” Anderson continued. “You’re searching for answers. If I do all these things to look younger — the creams, the classes, the supplements, the procedures — I’ll be more accepted by my kids, my friends, men … We took a lot of things for granted — youth, beauty. But now what?”

Of course, anyone with Anderson’s genes wouldn’t mind. The Baywatch alumna graced the January/February issue of Playboy — the magazine’s last nude issue and her 14th cover — only wearing a gold choker that spelled out the word “SEX.” And on May 9, she attended the New York City premiere of Connected in a skintight minidress by Hamel. But her mindset also helps her maintain a positive perspective.

“I know it sounds like a cliché, but happiness has a lot to do with beauty,” she said, “Calm, peacefulness and not-constant stress are very, very important to feeling beautiful and confident. And that comes across whether you’re wearing makeup or not.”
