Sensational New Book Claims Kris Jenner Leaked Kim Kardashian’s 2003 Sex Tape With Ray J

A sensational new book written by infamous Hollywood scribe Ian Halperin claims that Kris Jenner leaked Kim Kardashian‘s infamous 2003 sex tape with Ray J, and even goes into detail about how the momager allegedly orchestrated the deal.

Halperin quotes a source who works in the porn industry in the book, Kardashian Dynasty, which was excerpted by Page Six on Sunday, March 27. In his work, the writer’s source claims: “A mutual friend of Kim and Paris [Hilton] had advised her that if she wanted to achieve fame, a sex tape would be the way to go … Kim had discussed the idea of producing a tape with her family beforehand.” Click here to see Kim’s raciest pics.

Halperin quotes yet another insider, who was supposedly a former friend of Kim’s. “It was Kris who engineered the deal behind the scenes and was responsible for the tape seeing the light of day,” that person claims in the book (via Page Six).

Halperin has written numerous, shocking celeb-skewering books, including his best-known tome, 2009’s Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson. He’s also co-penned 2005’s Love and Death: The Murder of Kurt Cobain, 2009’s Hollywood Undercover, 2010’s The Governator: From Muscle Beach to His Quest For the White House, the Improbable Rise of Arnold Schwarzenegger and 2015’s Whitney and Bobbi Kristina.

The writer also went undercover and posed as a porn peddler, who was in possession of a fabricated celebrity sex tape. He was supposedly told by a Vivid spokesperson: “When it comes to . . . selling a sex tape, both parties need to sign off.” The rep, when asked about how the company got in possession of Kim’s tape, supposedly replied: “A third party brought it to Vivid … [We] got in touch with the Kardashian family.”

In 2007, Kardashian’s sex tape was released by Vivid Entertainment. The future reality star ended up suing the company in what resulted in a $5 million settlement, and the video was distributed. KUWTK debuted in October 2007. Kardashian’s rep went on the record with Page Six on Sunday, and said: “All the assertions are false.”

Kardashian has also addressed the claims in numerous interviews, including a memorable sit-down with Oprah back in 2012. At the time, the reality star denied leaking the video and said it actually caused a significant amount of shame for her family.

“You know, I think that’s how I was definitely introduced to the world … I like to think I’m aware, I’m not naive to that fact,” she said of the sex tape. “It was a negative way, so I thought I really had to work ten times harder for people to see the real me … I felt humiliated, I felt like: Why would anyone put that humiliation on their family like that?”

The future mom of North and Saint, who married Kanye West in May 2014, considered how her actions impacted her family. “I’ve always been concerned about humiliating the family,” she said. “That’s something I’m going to have to explain to my children someday. Imagine the conversation I had to explain it to my grandmother.”
