Don’t mess with Taylor! Selena Gomez stuck up for BFF Taylor Swift in a new interview with SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up on Friday, February 12, following the release of Kanye West’s shocking new song “Famous.”
West, 38, debuted the track from his new album, The Life of Pablo, on Thursday, February 11, in which he raps, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous.”
Like many of Swift’s pals, Gomez, 23, was not impressed with the controversial lyrics.
“Everybody has their own opinion,” she told SiriusXM. “At the end of the day, you can just do what you do.”
The “Hands to Myself” singer added, “She’s killing it and she kind of always has been.”
On February 11, Swift’s brother, Austin, shared a video of himself throwing his Yeezy trainers in the garbage can. Gomez liked the Instagram post shortly after.
Although Swift, 26, has yet to respond on social media, her squad has made it clear that they’re not happy.
“My attendance somewhere does not mean I agree with everything being said in the music playing there,” Gigi Hadid, who was at Kanye’s show at New York’s Madison Square Garden, tweeted. “My friends know of my loyalty.”
Jaime King added, “I’m so sad right now & disappointed right now. I stand by my sister. Always.”
