Say cheese and snap? It’s so much more than that! Bella Hadid spilled her secret to taking the perfect picture — whether for a magazine spread or your Instagram page — and it has nothing to do with finding a filter.

“My mom always taught me to think about something happy when I’m working, because it kind of shows through your face,” Hadid, 19, told Elle inside the mag’s June 2016 issue. “I used to think about my horses, but now I think about other things.”

Indeed, the middle Hadid child (her older sister is model Gigi) has plenty to make her smile these days, including her eighth cover of the year and her sweet relationship with The Weeknd, who she just attended the Met Gala with on May 2.
On getting to play a gun-toting femme fatale in his music video for “In the Night,” Hadid, who stuns in an Alaia bodysuit and beret on the cover, said, “I love seeing him happy and passionate about his art. Being able to see how he works, and put both of our workplaces together, turned out to be really beautiful.”
