Gigi Hadid just proved that maxi skirt and sweater outfits don’t have to be frumpy. In fact, they can be super sexy.

While heading into a 2015 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show viewing party in NYC on Tuesday, Dec. 8, Hadid, 20, rocked an all-black ensemble that featured a silky floor-length skirt and black knitwear.

Add sex appeal with a slit.
The flowy skirt featured a sultry slit that started way up on her thigh, which gave the Maybelline ambassador the chance to show some skin.
Add shape with a crop top.
One of the reasons this look can be boxy is because some sweaters don’t highlight the waist. Hadid solved that problem by wearing a crop top that didn’t leave her too exposed to the cold, but showed off her abs nonetheless.
Add coverage with a pair of over-the-knee boots.
Hadid kept things on the modest side with her Stuart Weitzman black suede Highland boots, which covered up most of her slim legs.
Though the above outfit was better suited for a nighttime event, with its crop top and slit, Hadid highlighted the versatility of her maxi skirt by pairing it with a different sweater (a Nili Lotan turtleneck) earlier in the day for an even more demure version of the outfit.
