Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, struggled to have a baby together. “It felt like forever,” the Real Housewives of Atlanta star told Us Weekly, “but it was so worth it!” Indeed, after pursuing “crazy expensive” IVF treatment, the couple are now proud parents of 10-week-old son Ace.

“He’s just now starting to smile,” Burruss, 39, told Us. “The first two months, they don’t make many expressions at you … I’m looking forward to making him laugh and stuff like that.”

The Grammy-winning songwriter, who penned TLC’s “No Scrubs,” also said her baby’s sleep schedule isn’t the only thing that has her exhausted. “Breastfeeding is a lot for me,” Burruss shared. “I feel like it’s every second that he wants to eat again, and it’s tiring me out!”

But Burruss, who is also the mom of Riley, 13, from a previous relationship, is determined to keep nursing. “I only did it for a month with [Riley], this time I want to do it longer,” she said. “I forgot how much of a task it is!”

Luckily, when Burruss needs a rest, she can depend on “built-in babysitters” Riley and stepdaughter Kaela, 19. “They are awesome,” she raved. “Kaela, she’s so good. She bathes Ace, changes his diapers and everything. Riley, she’s sweet, but if you ask her to change that crappy diaper, she’s like, ‘Uhhh, you can take him back now!’”

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs on Bravo on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET.
