‘Teen Mom OG’ Reunion Special Part 2 Recap: Gary Shirley Calls Matt ‘Trash,’ Catelynn Lowell Apologizes to Farrah Abraham

Amber Portwood and Gary Shirley battled it out! The former lovebirds and current enemies got into a huge disagreement on the Monday, March 7, Teen Mom OG reunion part 2, with Gary accusing Amber’s boyfriend Matt Baier of being “trash” who doesn’t take care of his biological children. Meanwhile, Catelynn Lowell got into a heated conversation with Farrah Abraham after being caught on camera calling her a “ho,” and Tyler Baltierra opened up about his suicide attempt.

Oh, also, Dr. Drew awkwardly announced that he wasn’t invited to Catelynn and Tyler’s wedding, so let’s all pray for his social life.

Tyler Gets Real About His Suicide Attempt

Tyler revealed that he attempted suicide in middle school, and spoke at length about the incident with Dr. Drew. “I thought once I jumped, my neck’s just gonna snap, and that’s gonna be straight — I’m gonna be done,” he explained. “When I jumped, and I’m struggling, and I can’t touch the ground, you know what I mean? I was like, ‘Oh, my God — this isn’t what I want.'”

The star (who also admitted to being a “cutter”) said he tried to hide his injuries with makeup, while his mom confirmed that she found him with “a rope burn from ear to ear.”

Meanwhile, Catelynn got real about her own struggle with depression, saying she also contemplated suicide and that Tyler pulled her out of it. “He was the one who made me go see a psychologist, because he was scared I was gonna hurt myself,” she said. “I remember sitting in the bathtub, and I’m like, ‘I am not waking up another day feeling like this.'”

Butch’s Dark Childhood Revealed

Tyler’s intense childhood might have something to do with the fact that his dad, Butch Baltierra, was perpetually in and out of jail. In fact, poor Butch had a rough time growing up himself. “Last time I see my ma, she’s flying through a kitchen window,” Butch told Dr. Drew via video chat. “Now that I know what they were yelling about, [my father] thought that my ma was sleeping with the neighbor, Earl. He had a steel hand. He was hardcore.”

Butch has been through a lot, but he seems happier than ever these days. “My life is just so great right now, my soul can barely handle it,” he mused. “I feel that I’m very adolescent … I try to stay in shape, and I get a lot of response from the Instagram and the Twitter.”

In the words of Dr. Drew, “Slow clap for Butch for just about everything he’s said.”

Matt *Finally* Drops His Kid Count

Let’s chat about Matt, shall we? Amber categorically explained that her man does not have seven children — but he does have five. “I was completely shocked, because I’m thinking in my head, ‘Oh, my God — this man has seven kids. He lied to me,'” Amber explained. “It’s not the case.”

So what did Matt have to say for himself? “Those are really painful memories for me, so I kinda pushed them aside,” he said. “It gets made to be more seedy than it really was. ‘Oh, he had children when he was younger, and he abandoned them in despair.’ That’s not what happened. They have families. They were raised in wonderful families. I would have done nobody any good being around them back then. Five. There’s five total.”

Despite Matt saying that rumors of his secret children are a “fallacy,” Gary wasn’t buying it. “We’re dealing with your whole life of trash too, though,” he said. “How can a man adore my kid but not his own, his own flesh and blood?”

Dr. Drew ended up having to sit between Matt and Gary, and, yeah, it was basically the most awkward thing ever.

Farrah vs. Catelynn

Farrah and Catelynn have some major, Taylor Swift–level bad blood going on. Turns out Catelynn was caught on camera calling Farrah a “f–king ho bag,” and Miss Abraham was not pleased. To make matters worse, Catelynn accused Farrah of “talking s–t” on a podcast, which prompted Farrah to utter the iconic sentence, “I don’t even go out of my way to engage in this conversation. Goodbye.”

Catelynn ended up apologizing for saying “hurtful things” to Farrah, and explained that she “had a buzz.” Fortunately, Farrah seemed to accept her former nemesis’ apology, so — phew. Now we can sleep at night!
