Now this is what ‘90s dreams are made of. On Monday, March 28, members of the Backstreet Boys, ‘NSync, 98 Degrees and O-Town dropped an epic boy band collaboration released in conjunction with the once-famous singers’ new SyFy movie, Dead 7.
To help promote their made-for-TV Zombie flick, the former teen heartthrobs recorded “In the End” — a pop power ballad that features the killer talents of ‘NSync’s Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick; the Backstreet Boys’ A.J. McLean, Nick Carter and Howie Dorough; 98 Degrees’ Jeff Timmons and O-Town’s Erik-Michael Estrada.
With its nasally vocals, breathy riffs and cheesy lyrics, the song sounds totally in tune with the music that made Us first fall in love with these guy groups more than a decade ago. Thanks to BuzzFeed, you can listen to “In the End” in all its nostalgia-inducing glory in the video above.
As previously reported, Dead 7 was initially helmed by BSB’s standout star Carter, 36, who plays a main part in the Walking Dead-inspired film alongside bandmate McLean, 38, and ‘NSync’s Fatone, 39.
“Think about it,” Carter — who not only stars in, but cowrote the script for the project — told BuzzFeed in July 2015. “Boy-banders, people from the late ’90s, people who you love, fighting zombies in a post-apocalyptic world. Pretty crazy, right?”
Dead 7 premieres on SyFy on Friday, April 1, at 8 p.m. ET.
