In her corner. Kesha is grateful for the support she’s received from fans and fellow celebrities following her devastating court loss against Dr. Luke, a source reveals to Us Weekly.
“She loves the support and has been blown away by it,” the source tells Us. “This was a horrible blow but she is going to keep fighting and she is absolutely blown away by the support from other artists and her fans.”
Last week, the “Tik Tok” singer, 28, sobbed in court after a judge refused to terminate her contract with Dr. Luke, 42. According to CNN, Kesha claims that the producer allegedly drugged and raped her back in 2006. Sony offered to let Kesha work with another producer, but the singer argues that the company will not promote her music as much moving forward.
Following the decision, fans and celebrities flocked to social media to speak out for Kesha. The hashtag #FreeKesha also began to trend.
“Trying 2 not say anything since I can’t say anything nice about a person… so this is me not talking about Dr. Luke,” Kelly Clarkson tweeted on Friday.
“#FreeKesha this is only gonna make you stronger, you brave and beautiful girl,” Demi Lovato added. “Prayers are with you @KeshaRose.” Other celebs to show their support include Lady Gaga, Lorde, Ariana Grande and Sara Bareilles.
Taylor Swift took it a step further. The “Out of the Woods” songstress donated $250,000 to help Kesha with any financial needs amid her legal woes, which are far from over. “It’s been difficult but everybody is rooting for her, and there were two other motions to dismiss that were tabled at the hearing so there is more to come and it is not over,” the source explains.
Despite Swift’s help, Kesha is not broke. “She still has money coming in and can always perform,” the source explains.
