Former Bachelor Matt Grant Is ‘Devastated’ Over Death of Contestant Erin Storm

Gone too soon. Former Bachelor star Matt Grant spoke out on Tuesday, March 22, about the death of Erin Storm, a contestant on season 12 of the ABC reality series.

Storm, who competed for the Brit’s final rose in 2008, was killed in a plane crash in L.A. on Monday, according to multiple reports.

Grant told Entertainment Tonight that he was “massively shocked” by Storm’s death, adding that he was “devastated for her family and friends.”

“We were lucky to have Erin on season 12,” he told ET. “She was genuine, self-assured, beautiful and hilarious.”

According to the reports, Storm was flying an Airborne XT-912 light-sport, weight-shift control plane and crashed soon after taking off from the Hawthorne Municipal Airport.

The Venice, California, resident was eliminated during week 3 of Grant’s season.

“Somehow you knew from the first minute of being with her that Erin could pretty much go and do anything,” Grant told ET. “On my season her occupation was listed as hot dog vendor … which surprised me a little bit. From talking to her, it soon became clear she was a smart, entrepreneurial cookie.”
