Kesha Cancels Concert at Chicago’s Loyola University Amid Dr. Luke Court Case

All too much. Kesha has canceled a concert scheduled for Friday, February 26, at Chicago’s Loyola University, citing “personal reasons.” The “TiK ToK” singer was due to perform at the university’s Gentile Arena as part of the weekend’s Colossus 16 celebration.

Kesha was denied an initial injunction bid against Dr. Luke last week, which would have allowed her early exit from her recording contract. The pop star alleges rape and abuse against the producer, dating back a decade.

As her case continues, she has been inundated with support from celebs and fans alike, with stars such as Adele, Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato all standing by her side.

But the stress of the court case is evidently taking its toll on the 28-year-old musician. The University issued a statement informing students the money for their tickets would be refunded, and that Kesha is sad to have had to pull out.

“Kesha has expressed her disappointment in having to cancel, but she feels that this is the best decision for her at this time. We respect her decision and wish her well,” the statement reads.

According to a Facebook post by organizers, the rally “to support Kesha and end rape culture” is still scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Friday at the university’s West Quad.

For his part, Dr. Luke insists all allegations against him are unfounded. In a sworn statement in December the producer said, “All of their horrific allegations of abuse, threats and other purported misconduct by me against Kesha are completely untrue and deeply hurtful.”
