Khloé Kardashian is living up to her nickname “Khlo-money.” The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has been “fully supporting” her estranged husband, Lamar Odom, financially ever since he was hospitalized in October, a source tells Us Weekly.
And although she’s allegedly footing the bill, the reality personality, 31, is unable to control the former NBA star’s decisions.
“She is very worried, but Lamar refuses to listen to her,” the insider tells Us of the 36-year-old. “He actually said, ‘Nothing will happen to me. Look at how I survived this last one.’”
Odom — who has publicly struggled with alcohol and substance abuse and nearly died after he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel in October — hit up Johnny O’Brien’s pub in L.A.’s Sherman Oaks neighborhood on Saturday, March 26. The former Lakers star ordered drinks, an eyewitness told Us.
The next day, Odom accompanied Kardashian and her famous family to celebrate Easter Sunday.
After reports that the athlete was drinking surfaced on Tuesday, March 29, Kardashian tweeted that she felt “helpless.”
But a source close to the former baller claims that Odom wasn’t drinking and that he simply wanted a change of scenery.
“He went out with Khloé’s security to meet some friends and get out of the house. He bought them the drinks, but didn’t drink himself,” the insider claims. “Khloé’s security guard was with him, which is just like having Khloé with you. He just wanted to get out into the real world for a second and feel normal.”
The source maintains that Odom, who attended Rob Kardashian’s belated birthday celebration on March 19 and the Lakers game on Wednesday, March 30, has “been so good and healthy.”
Another source close to Odom says that Kardashian isn’t footing his bills, but that as his caretaker, she simply “authorizes the management company to pay using Lamar’s money.”
“It is Lamar’s money, not her money,” the source notes.
