Lots of newly engaged ladies hit the nail salon as soon as the ring slides on their finger, but for Julianne Hough a fresh haircut was higher up on her list of priorities.
Not a problem for her longtime hairstylist, Riawna Capri, who could not have been more pumped to celebrate her client and friend, who accepted a 6-carat sparkler from beau Brooks Laich on Aug. 18, with a fresh ‘do the very next day.
Captioning a snap of Hough’s trim and ice-blonde highlights, Capri wrote, “Guess who? (Cuz it’s so hard) Clue: Fresh off tour with a fresh fiancé.” She also added the hashtag “#thejulianne,” referencing the pro dancer’s choppy blonde bob.
The inspiration behind her latest cut? Simple maintenance. “Julianne’s been on tour [with Move Live] for two months, so she was due for her traditional touch-up,” the hairstylist, who co-owns the 901 salon and also styles Hough’s best friend, Nina Dobrev, told Us Weekly.
Explaining her process, Capri added, “We dusted her ends to keep them healthy, so that her hair will continue to grow, and we brightened up her highlights.”
Although Capri shared that the Dancing With the Stars judge, 27, booked her appointment pre-engagement, the cut was still a cause for cheer. After Hough dropped into the salon, the stylist posted a pic of the star’s engagement cupcakes with the caption, “Nothing says ‘Congrats’ like an edible picture of yourself on a red velvet cupcake! So happy for you lovers!”
