Maisie Williams Faces New Challenges on ‘Game of Thrones’: Watch

It’s not easy being a Stark. Maisie Williams, who plays beloved character Arya Stark in HBO’s hit Game of Thrones, recently spoke with Us Weekly Video about the challenges she’ll face going into the much-anticipated sixth season, which premieres on Sunday, April 24.

“She’s gotta figure out how to do anything without her eyes first,” Williams, 19, told Us at the Tribeca Film Festival’s premiere of Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. “I think she’ll try to cross that one off first before she tries to go looking for any revenge.”

When the show last left off in June, Williams’ Arya was on the warpath for revenge, and had cleverly disguised herself to get close to Ser Meryn and ultimately gauge his eyes out with a knife.

But lo and behold, by end of the episode, it’s Arya who’s lost her vision, forcing her to relearn the mechanisms that allow her to get revenge on those who have wronged her.

“That was the most difficult part, rather than any of the actual physical work,” Williams told Us. “Not seeing was fine, but it was the actual contact lenses that were difficult.”
