Lost in those eyes! Jaimie Alexander stunned at the NYC screening of Captain America: Civil War on Wednesday, May 4, thanks in no small part to her incredibly long lashes.
“Playing off the ’90s silhouette of the [Christian Siriano] dress and the choker, we did ’90s makeup with a ’60s twist,” celebrity makeup artist Jessi Butterfield tells Us Weekly. “We wanted to keep the look matte and clean, with great glowing skin, but for a punch, I added a fun, exaggerated lash.”

The trick is all in the application. “I started with one coat applied normally, then I turned the brush vertically to draw out longer lashes,” Butterfield explains. “That made the lashes a little more chunky — mod and tough.”
But Butterfield, who also works with Neve Campbell and Reign actress Adelaide Kane, noted that as much as the vertical switch is key, her choice of formula — the Orlane Volume Care Mascara ($40, orlane.com) — was crucial, too. “The brush is amazing, because it’s small on one end and graduates to a longer brush. You can use the short end to pull out those longer lashes on the top,” the makeup artist tells Us. “Plus, it’s a wet formula, so you can really build and paint with it.”

With Alexander’s lush lashes stealing the scene, Butterfield kept the rest of the Blindspot actress’ face nice and light. She created a base using Orlane Teint Absolu Treatment Foundation, finished with Orlane Transparent Loose Powder. Broad swipes of Orlane Bronzing Pressed Powder #2 gave the star a healthy glow, while Orlane Poudre Compact Multi Soleil added a subtle pop to her cheeks.
