Always in their hearts. Stuart Scott‘s daughters, Taelor and Sydni Scott, paid tribute to their late dad on the anniversary of his death on Monday, January 4.
Taelor, 20, and Sydni, 16, recorded a video, which they posted on YouTube, to honor the former sports broadcaster. Taelor and Sydni wrote a “Dear Dad” letter for Dear World. The site encourages readers to “explore stories of hope” and “stories of a brighter day” through a variety of social experiments.
“My dad was always the sports guy. That much is clear,” Taelor recalls in the footage. “He went to all my games, and he was always there on the sidelines with critiques and congratulations.”

Sydni, meanwhile, looked back at how her famous dad introduced her to photography. “He showed me how to load film into the camera …” she says. “When I showed him the camera that his father gave me, he was immediately excited.”

As previously reported, Scott succumbed to cancer at age 49 on January 4, 2015. The former ESPN anchor was a hero to many, especially to his loved ones.
“The hardest thing is probably being very lonely. He was a father but also a friend — and I feel like I’ve lost a friend,” Sydni says in the clip.

Taelor adds: “The hardest part about losing my dad has been times when I either thought I saw him somewhere and when there are things that I want to tell him.”
