Jessica Alba: I’m No Sexpot!

Jessica Alba
Jessica Alba says she's more than just a pretty face

Don't bother labeling Jessica Alba as just another hot actress — it's an image she's been trying to leave behind for nearly a decade.

The 32-year-old star, who was recently tapped a guest style editor for Piperlime, revealed to omg! in a recent interview that the sexpot image she got slapped with early in her career didn't reflect her personality at all.

"In my early 20s, I was doing a lot of press tours for movies and things like that … I was advertised in things, but it was so not my personality. It made me come off so sexy and tough, and I was like, 'That's not me,' but, I guess it sells magazines and movies," she told us.

According to the star and CEO of The Honest Company, she shirked her sexy image by trying to downplay her fabulous figure. "I was very lady and very conservative, like Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. They're very chic and simple." she dished. "I think it was my reaction to the way that I was advertised."

These days, she's realistically in charge of her own image as she multi-tasks raising her daughters — Honor, 5, and Haven, 2 — while she builds her company, and she confessed that she's much more comfortable with her style. "Now I feel like I'm a lot more funky and I try more things and I'm not as self-conscious. I just have more fun with fashion."

And when the "Machete" actress really wants to step out in something sensational, she turns to one super-cute critic: her daughter Honor. "Honor's on it," Alba laughed as she dished that her husband of five years, Cash Warren, still has some work to do in the style department. "Cash is a lot more conservative and safe. And he doesn't really understand proportions that well. Honor has the better eye, for sure."

In fact, it sounds like she and Honor have some work to do in order to get Daddy up to speed on the hottest trends. "This will be our third season where I'm going to try to get him to wear a boot. Let's see what happens. I doubt he will," she quipped about her hubby's wardrobe, adding that it took her four years to coax him into a more tapered pant. "Cash is such a sneaker or a loafer guy. And I'm like, 'It's OK, the loafers are fine, but you might need to break into another zone and embrace the boot.'"

Although she says that when she needs help convincing her man to try out a new trend she turns to one guy: Sean Carter. "I think when Jay Z embraces something then all of a sudden it's alright because he's the ultimate kind of dude."

Funny, since we're pretty sure when we're ready to crank up our style, we turn to one woman: Jessica Alba.
