From their broad grins at their 14th wedding anniversary dinner, you’d never know Teresa and Joe Giudice were awaiting a federal fraud trial where they could face up to 50 years in prison. The couple, who rose to fame on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, is facing 39 counts of federal fraud, and their February 2014 court date is just around the corner.
The Giudices finished up season 5 of the Bravo show earlier this month and have already signed on for the sixth season, which is rumored to include details on their legal troubles.
On Oct. 24, Teresa Giudice, 41, tweeted a photo with her arms wrapped around her husband, whom she affectionately calls Juicy Joe, saying, “My honey and I had a great time at Rao’s for our Anniversary.”
The New Jersey parents of four have been married for 14 years. In September 2011, they had a second wedding ceremony at Oheka Castle on Long Island, which they admitted was mainly to put divorce rumors to rest.
In the second ceremony, Tre wore a $25,000 Pnina Tornai gown and the couple’s four daughters were all involved.
Many have criticized the New Jersey housewife for showing no emotion since the charges were filed against her, but in a special interview with Andy Cohen, Teresa explained her stoic behavior.
“I can’t fall apart, Andy,” she said. “I have my daughters. They mean the world to me.”
The couple’s trial was originally slated to start this month, but was pushed back to ensure both sides had enough time to comb through the various financial documents involved.
