The gang's all back together again! Christine McVie is heading back to Fleetwood Mac after 15 years. In 1998, the 70-year-old singer quit the band to go live a quieter life in the English countryside.
"[McVie] has indeed re-joined Fleetwood Mac," the band's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, tells Billboard in a statement. "We are hoping to make an announcement about a possible tour for the full tilt Macsters some time in 2014."
McVie was a big part of the band. In 1968, she married band member John McVie, joined the group in 1970, and wrote hits like "Don't Stop," "Say You Love Me," "Little Lies," "Hold Me," and "You Make Loving Fun." The two divorced in 1976, and John revealed just last October that he was diagnosed with cancer. The band cancelled 14 shows in Australia and New Zealand at the time while he received treatment.
In an exclusive interview this month, Stevie Nicks, 65, told Us Weekly about John's current state. "He's good. He's gonna be fine. I'm not the least bit worried about John," she said. "He's very, very strong and a man of very few words. He's not a person to mess with."
Christine has reunited with the band before, which also includes Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood. One month before John's cancer reveal, she joined her old friends for just one song — "Don't Stop" — each night on Sept. 25 and 27 at the O2 Arena.
