North West's chances of having a younger sibling haven't gone south yet. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been trying for several months to have another baby, and though their efforts so far haven't paid off, they're holding out hope for a second pregnancy. Kardashian, 34, is even seeing fertility doctors to "figure out what's going on," she revealed during a pre-taped interview for the Today show on Monday, April 27.
"They say if you've been trying [to have a baby] for a year, then you usually need a little bit of help," the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star told Matt Lauer. "I had a tough delivery, so I understand what my challenges are. I mean, I'm seeing the best doctors and I'm trying to do everything that I can to make that happen."
Indeed, West, 37, told BBC Radio 1 this past February that he and his wife "try as many times a day" as they can to conceive a second child. And Kardashian joked on a recent episode of KUWTK that they have sex "500 times a day." They even got it on in a bathroom during one of her many photo shoots. "You gotta get it in where you can get it in," she quipped at the time.
Asked whether they'd considered other options for expanding their family, the reality star revealed that the idea of surrogacy had been recommended to her — but that she still wanted to try to get pregnant herself.
"I would like to hold out a little bit longer, and still try. I still have hope, so I'm just going to keep on trying," she shared. "Never say never. I mean, we haven't talked about adopting."
For the moment, at least, she's happy just to dote on daughter North, 22 months. As Kardashian told Lauer, "I think you get kind of over it to the point where, I'm so blessed that I have one, and I don't want to take my focus off of her so much."
