Selener's are just going to have to wait until next time. Selena Gomez has canceled her upcoming Australian tour, the 21-year-old singer announced Thursday, Dec. 19.

"My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them," Gomez said in a statement. "But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."

She continued: "To my fans, I sincerely apologize and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you mean to me."

A source tells Us Weekly some rest is much needed for the young star. "She has been working nonstop for six years," an insider explains to Us. "She needs to take some time for herself. It was a very hard decision because she hates disappointing fans but she needs to focus on her for a bit. She wants to stay healthy."

Gomez most recently performed at the 2013 Jingle Ball in NYC on Friday, Dec. 6. During her performance, the "Come & Get It" songstress became agitated when her audio and mic malfunctioned. After dropping the f-bomb and promising two songs, Gomez then walked off stage after only performing one more.

"Sorry, the sound isn't working!" she said at the time. "Are you guys having a good night? I promise, a lot cooler people are gonna come out tonight."
