Taylor Swift: Revenge Songs About My Exes Are Riskier Than Getting Naked

Four words unlikely to ever be strung together: Taylor Swift goes naked! In the March issue of Glamour, the country-pop sensation, 24, muses that she’s not going to disrobe for the cameras a la Miley Cyrus anytime soon. Still, the “Red” singer argues that she makes herself vulnerable and takes huge risks in another way. “I find it relatively easy to keep my clothes on because I don’t really feel like taking them off. It’s not an urge I have,” Swift explains in the cover story.

“For me ‘risky’ is revealing what really happened in my life through music. Risky is writing confessional songs and telling the true story about a person with enough details so everyone knows who that person is,” says the Nashville resident. (LOL! Taylor thought she won the album of the year Grammy — relive a GIF of her reaction.) Indeed, “All Too Well,” which she headbanged to at last week’s Grammys, is presumably about ex Jake Gyllenhaal, while some muse “I Knew You Were Trouble” is about Harry Styles. (Other exes covered via song have included John Mayer, Joe Jonas and others. “That’s putting myself out there, maybe even more than taking my shirt off,” she says.

Currently single — or at least not sharing details of her latest relationship with the world — Swift also dishes to Glamour about how she deals with conflict in romances: With silence. “Silence speaks so much louder than screaming tantrums,” says the star. “Never give anyone an excuse to say that you’re crazy.”

Does Swift play games in relationships? “I think everyone should approach relationships from the perspective of playing it straight and giving someone the benefit of the doubt,” she says, adding a very important caveat. “Until he establishes that this is a game. And if it’s a game, you need to win. The best thing to do is just walk away from the table.”
