Ben Affleck -- who's set to play Batman in the Man of Steel sequel -- joined other celebrities via Twitter as he reacted to Miles, the 5-year-old Leukemia patient, who lived his dream as Batkid in San Francisco Friday, Nov. 15

Ben's new sidekick! Miles, 5, realized his dream of a lifetime as he became Batkid for a day in San Francisco on Friday, Nov. 15 — and now another caped crusader, Ben Affleck, is applauding the sweet boy's crime-fighting, heroic day in Gotham City.

"Batkid. Best Batman ever. #SFBatKid #MakeAWish @SFWish," the 41-year-old actor (prepping to play Batman in an upcoming Man of Steel sequel) wrote via Twitter on Saturday, Nov. 16. Other celebrities cheering on Miles via social media included Elizabeth Banks, Nick Lachey, Anna Kendrick, Enrique Iglesias, and many more.

Miles was diagnosed with leukemia at 18 months old, but is now in remission after finishing treatments in June. During his special day, Patricia Wilson, executive director of the Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area chapter, transformed San Francisco into Gotham City. An appropriately costumed Miles fought off Batman's well-known foes The Joker and The Penguin, got a special ceremony hosted by the mayor and even a Vine video message from President Barack Obama.

In August, it was announced that the father of three with wife Jennifer Garner would be taking on the role opposite Henry Cavill's Superman.

The casting news did bring a bit of backlash though. "I'm a big boy," Affleck said during an appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Sept. 16. "I saw the announcement, I look at the first comment and it's like, 'Ben Affleck is going to be Batman' and the first one goes, 'Noooooooo!'"

In the Zack Snyder directed film, the Boston native will be playing an older, burnt-old version of Batman/Bruce Wayne.
