The Voice Season 6 Premiere: Blues Singer Bria Kelly Blows the Coaches Away– Watch the Performance!

Great things come in small packages! In the two-hour season 6 premiere of NBC’s The Voice, the final blind audition of the night proved to be the most impressive. Former country artist-turned-soulful bluesy rocker, Bria Kelly, took to the stage singing James Taylor‘s “Steamroller Blues.”

The 17-year-old wailed on stage with the power of an artist decades older. Her distinctive sound moved all four coaches to turn their chairs.

Before anyone could get a word in, Usher declared, “Ladies and gentlemen, we have just heard THE Voice,” with Shakira agreeing and calling the Smithfield, Virginia native “a star.”

Adam Levine attempted to appeal to Kelly’s obvious sense of humor, joking with the young singer, who had earlier in her interview admitted to having a predisposition toward the Maroon 5 frontman.

“You haven’t been alive long enough to feel the pain you were expressing up there,” Levine, 34, joked.

“I believe I was born in the wrong generation,” Kelly surmised.

Not one to be outdone, Blake Shelton, rather bizarrely, declared to the young woman: “You are a stud! It’s a powerful presence up there.”

But once Usher pulled out one of his eight Grammy Awards, taking the golden gramophone trophy up to the stage to entice Kelly, the other coaches didn’t stand a chance. Kelly picked Team Usher.
