Mario Batali: I’d Love to Cook With Katie Holmes!

After meeting Katie Holmes in New York City, celebrity chef Mario Batali is anxious to get into the kitchen and cook with the actress.

Katie Holmes is many things to many people — an actress and mom among them — and celebrity chef Mario Batali is betting that the star has her way with slicing and dicing in the kitchen, too. In fact, The Chew cohost Batali tells Us Weekly he'd love for Suri Cruise's New York City-based mom to be his next sous chef!

"I would love to work and get in the kitchen more with Katie," Batali, 53, told Us at a New York City Food Bank event in September, just hours after the NYC restaurateur connected with Holmes, 34, for the first time at another food-centric event in the Big Apple. "We're going to do something together, but I'm not sure what," Batali teased. "She's unbelievably smart, really funny and we had a really nice time — I think we'll cook together."

Should Holmes choose to don chef's whites, the actress would have some competition when it comes to A-listers who have tried to impress the legendary Babbo founder. "I would say amongst my favorite celebrities that have cooked for me, [Bush frontman and Gwen Stefani's husband] Gavin Rossdale is another great one," Gwyneth Paltrow's BFF told Yahoo's omg!. "Jimmy Kimmel is [also another] great one."

Is there anyone who could use a little help in the kitchen? "Jimmy Fallon. Not such a great cook, but a great guy and a great host," Batali quipped.
