Flying Kate! Prince George's mom has been taking flying lessons! The Duchess of Cambridge revealed her adventurous ways to a commuter while aboard a double-decker Routemaster bus during London Poppy Day on Thursday, Nov. 7.
"My grandfather flew planes," Kate Middleton told the well-wisher. "I've had a few lessons on fixed wing."
As for their little bundle of joy, Prince George stayed with Nanny Webb at Kensington Palace during Middleton's morning travels with Prince William. "He's half asleep," the 31-year-old mum told British actress Barbara Windsor, who joined the two, during their London bus ride. "He's behaving himself this morning," William, also 31, added.
William, who has had very little experience riding public transportation, seemed quite excited about the ride. "It's very sociable! Although I suppose everyone's got their earphones in," he joked.
"It's quite nice being in one place," the new dad said of living in Apartment 1A, though he said he does miss his Search and Rescue job. The couple spent 18 months renovating the 20-room fixer-upper apartment in the famed Kensington Palace. "Their home is beautiful. This is a very exciting time for them," a palace insider previously revealed to Us Weekly.
"Kensington Palace is safe and contained, and such a welcoming environment. You feel like you have freedom there," a former resident added.
During the outing, Middleton wore a stunning red colored LK Bennett "Ami" coat with black tights and matching court shoes. She and William both donned a small clutch of poppies attached to their clothing to also go along with the theme.
The royals joined 2,000 uniformed personnel, veterans and supporters in helping to hopefully raise 1 million British pounds in just one day for the British Royal Legion.
