Chris Brown may be throwing in the towel. The 24-year-old singer announced via Twitter on Tuesday, Aug. 6, that he may be retiring from music after his next album is released.
"Don't worry mainstream America. After this X album, it'll probably be my last album," he wrote. The tweet has since been deleted.
He added, "Being famous is amazing when it’s for ur music and talent. I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when i was 18. I’m cool & over it," referencing his 2009 felony assault with then girlfriend Rihanna.
The "Don't Wake Me Up" singer's last album, Fortune, was released in 2012.
Though his seriousness on retiring is still unknown, the Grammy winner made the comments just one day after turning himself in for a prior May 21 hit-and-run with a California woman. The R&B singer is due back for a trial on Thursday, Aug. 15.
