Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's baby girl is just 2 months old, but she's already flown the friendly skies with her famous parents. The 32-year-old reality star and the 36-year-old hip hop artist took their daughter, North, on her first across-state-lines trip this weekend to Oklahoma, where they attended a funeral for West's grandfather, a source confirms to Us Weekly.
The "Black Skinhead" rapper's late grandfather, Portwood Williams Sr., died on Saturday, Aug. 10, at the age of 98. He was laid to rest one week later on Saturday, Aug. 17, with West and his new family among the mourners.
Williams was said to be very close with his famous grandson and reportedly had a soft spot for Kardashian, too. Earlier this year, he told the New York Daily News that the couple had visited him in Oklahoma City last fall.
"She is beautiful — and she's just as sweet as she is beautiful — and that's what I liked about her!" the Daily News quotes him as saying of West's girlfriend. "She was just down to earth. She's rich, and those kinds of people, they've got everything."
Notably, Oklahoma is also the final resting place for West's late mother, Donda West. Donda died at the age of 58 on Nov. 10, 2007, of complications following cosmetic surgery.
After Williams' funeral on Saturday, Kardashian and West flew back to the West Coast for a dinner with Instagram CEO and co-founder Kevin Systrom. "Chilling with the creator of Instagram," the new mom captioned a darkened snapshot on the night of Saturday, Aug. 17.
