As people across the globe watched, the royal family arrived at St. James' Palace in London, England for the christening of Prince George — the first son of Prince William and Kate Middleton and third in line to the throne. The 3-month-old baby wore a traditional  christening dress and was held by his father as a happy and healthy looking Middleton, 31, smiled and greeting family members outside of the palace , including great grandmother Queen Elizabeth and grandfather Prince Charles

But once inside St. James' Palace, the service was closed to all cameras. However, the official press release gives some insider info on the milestone event. The entire service was made up of two hymns, two Bible verses or "lessons," and two anthems.

Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton each read a lesson for their tiny nephew. Many were surprised when the high-profile siblings were not named godparents to young George, but William and Kate selected seven other contenders, including William's first cousin, Zara Phillips, his childhood friend, William van Cutsem, and the couple's friend from the University of St. Andrews, Oliver Baker

Anthems at the service were performed by the Choir of Her Majesty's Chapel Royal, which is made up of six professional singers and 10 young boy choristers.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge picked "Blessed Jesu! Here We Stand" for one of their anthems. The song was originally written for Prince William's baptism on Aug. 4, 1982.

The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby baptized Prince George.
