Beyonce’s Makeup Artist: Even Bey’s No-Makeup Look Requires Some Product

She didn't wake up like that!

To the relief of women everywhere, Beyonce's makeup artist, Francesca Tolot, reveals that even the "Drunk in Love" singer's no-makeup look has a little product. "She is beautiful, first of all, so even if we have to do a bare look —like for 'If I Were A Boy'—there was really practically no makeup there," Tolot, who first met Beyonce, 32, in 2003 on the set of "Crazy in Love," told Into the Gloss. "For that, I use moisturizer and maybe a little bit of concealer and lip balm."

Tolot prefers Amazing Concealer to hide any blemishes. "It's very intense, very rich. It really covers a big problem if you need it to, and I like that," she said, noting she also uses La Mer The Radiant Concealer.

For more glam looks, Tolot, who worked with the superstar on her films Cadillac Records and Dreamgirls, relies on a bevy of lash-enhancing products. "One that I find myself using on her a lot is MAC In Extreme Dimension Mascara. To me, it's the best mascara right now, so that’s kind of a constant," she revealed. "My other favorite mascara is L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes. Definitely that one."

Except for the rare occasion like the raunchy-glam-disco "Blow" video, false eyelashes are a no-no. "We stopped using lashes quite a few years ago," Tolot said. "At one point I brought up the fact that I feel that false eyelashes are dated, unless you're going for the retro look. So I talked to her about that, and she totally agreed."

Otherwise, Bey's beauty routine is virtually limitless. "There isn't really a look she doesn't like," Tolot shared. "She's very smart– whatever we do is her project. It's her. Usually there’s a message in the song, which influences the way it’s going to be filmed, and the wardrobe, and the choreography. That's all information that I have beforehand, and that will inspire the look for the makeup."
